Program Description:

The New Beginnings Market is IRCO’s pilot project initiated in response to an unprecedented need to support the resettlement effort for incoming Afghan and Ukrainian refugees and parolees by supplying household items, furniture, hygiene kits, and more in the Portland Metro region.
The primary goal of the Market is to provide items that meet the unique needs of IRCO’s clients in an empowering “shop-like” setting as part of our culturally responsive wraparound service model.

Position Summary:

We welcome corporate and organization groups of 4 to 15 people to come together to help us ready the market for newcomers. For this opportunity volunteers will be expected to:
• Sort, fold, and hang clothing inventory
• Sort and organize furniture and household items
• Sort and organize personal care items
• Process and track new inventory
• Prepare welcome kits
• Help tidy the warehouse

Must complete provided warehouse safety and lifting training.

Requirements:

• Must be 18 or older

2 Hours one-time
