Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday from 2:30pm-4:15pm

Position Description:

Upward Bound is a college access program that serves first generation & low-income students with academic need who intend to enroll in post-secondary education directly out of high school. Students who are enrolled to commit for 4 years of high school receive services that include tutoring, academic advising, workshops, 6-week summer program, field trips, and support with the college/scholarship application process.

Position Summary:

Volunteers will be tutoring high school level and lower college level Math (Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus) or Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), and ideally comfortable assisting in other high school subject areas as well.

Experience tutoring and/or working with youth preferred; Experience with some college coursework in the above subjects preferred.

Requirements:

Must be 18 or older ; Must pass comprehensive background check through David Douglas School District; Must provide proof of COVID vaccination

Time Commitment:

2023-2024 Academic Year: September-June. Yearlong commitment preferred; 3-month minimum. Volunteers are expected to tutor at least once a week.
