Flexible schedule. We are looking for someone who can volunteer at least two hours per week.

Position Description:

At IRCO, our mission is to welcome, serve, and empower refugees, immigrants, and people across cultures and generations to reach their full potential. We imagine a future where refugees and immigrants belong, our staff are nurtured, and all communities thrive. The New Beginnings Market primarily assists IRCO's resettlement division in providing household and personal care goods to clients during the relocation process. The market serves newly arrived refugees and immigrants, as well as other clients based off their needs.

Position Summary:

New Beginnings Market is a warehouse marketplace where IRCO Clients can come to shop with dignity. Another unique feature of this market is that anyone can access these services in the community if they have an IRCO caseworker. New and gently used furniture, clothing, and household and personal care items are donated to us and we arrange and organize the store into an easy to navigate shopping experience. IRCO clients then shop for the items they need in their new homes - free of charge. We always need donations of these essential items, and the NBM Donation Coordinator will help us secure our most needed items.

For this role volunteers will be expected to:

Search different websites for needed donations. For example, buy nothing groups, Facebook marketplace, etc.
Contact potential donors.
Vetting of potential donations through pictures.
Be on the lookout for our most needed items at New Beginnings Market.
Schedule donation pick-ups with IRCO staff. Donation pickups will be limited to Mondays (all day) and Friday (afternoons).

No previous experience required.
Have effective communication skills.
Be a team player, collaborate well with others, and demonstrate a positive attitude.
Be reliable, follow directions well, and carry out the commitments of the position.
Follow all safety guidelines and requirements.
Has a computer and access to internet.

Must be 18 or older
Must follow all safety requirements

Time Commitment:

We are looking for volunteers that can commit to 2 hours a week.
