IRCO East Oregon started in 2020 with three staff members in Ontario, Oregon. Over the years, IRCO Eastern Oregon has expanded its services and staff to serve the greater Malheur County area and Baker County. IRCO Eastern Oregon serves refugee families from many countries, including Iraq, Syria, Somalia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. We also serve the Latinx community and several white mainstream/US-born families. We offer programs and services to families from Early Childhood with PCI and Healthy Families to Youth Refugee Mentoring and Employment Services, Health Services, connections to resources, and more. Malheur and Baker County are considered a "frontier" because they are rural and far away from a major city's typical support systems and services. IRCO Eastern Oregon recognizes the need for families to connect to the support system and services offered in rural Oregon and is part of making those connections.
