IRCO Eastern Oregon

IRCO in Eastern Oregon

IRCO Eastern Oregon started in 2018 with three staff members in Ontario, Oregon. Over the years, IRCO Eastern Oregon has expanded its services and staff to serve the greater Malheur County area and Baker County. IRCO Eastern Oregon serves refugee families from all communities, including Iraq, Syria, Somalia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. We also serve the Latinx community and several white mainstream/US-born families. We connect community members to many IRCO programs, including Early Learning and Community Safety & Wellbeing.

Malheur and Baker County are considered a "frontier" because they are rural and far away from a major city's typical support systems and services. IRCO Eastern Oregon recognizes the need for families to connect to the support system and services offered in rural Oregon and is part of making those connections.
