Ben is an energy sector focused project finance and analytics specialist with experience ranging from utility scale power generation projects to energy efficiency performance contracts with the Federal government. Prior to his recent experiences, he held positions in securities banking, corporate finance in construction and real estate development, and consulting. Ben obtained his Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Finance and International Business from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and his MBA from The University of Edinburgh (UK).
Ben immigrated from Hong Kong at a young age and has been in Portland, OR since 2016. His experiences from primary to higher education and from working in various corporate environments in the U.S. led him to pursue his passion for helping others gain the skills to integrate, and the capacities to participate in our society with equal footing. Since 2016, he has been a volunteer tutor at IRCO’s Refugee and Immigrant Student Empowerment (RISE) after-school program at David Douglas High School. As a board member, he looks to serve the immigrant and refugee community in accordance with IRCO’s mission with equal dedication. Outside of work, his deep appreciation and curiosity for cultural diversity and the natural environment influence his propensity to travel near and far.
