Community Safety & Wellbeing Services

Health & Wellness Services

We address social determinants of health through insurance enrollment, community education, health systems navigation, and health screenings. We also offer 90-hour Community Health Worker training for general community members interested in becoming certified.

In addition, our practice and evidence-based, trauma-informed, relationship-based case management and peer support services build safe spaces for families to build social connections. Peer Support Specialists build relationships with clients, work on goals, find solutions to problems, and connect families with essential supports like basic needs, food, and housing.

Refugee & Immigrant Family Strengthening

RIFS works with participants who are part of our immigrant and refugee communities and undocumented survivors.

Started in 1998, we are a culturally and linguistically specific program that provides holistic, culturally specific, trauma-informed intensive case management and wrap-around services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking who have been victimized in the last 6 months and live in the Portland Metro area and Ontario, OR.

RIFS Advocates are a lifeline for survivors as they flee from violence, recover from trauma, and rebuild their lives. Our team is multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, and multi-lingual and the staff speak a total of 21 languages. We are client centered and work with the community partners through outreach and collaboration to assist DV/SA/ST survivors.

RIFS serves participant survivors with a vast list of available resources ranging from safety planning and escape to legal support and court accompaniment, to emergency shelter and sustainable housing, language education and employment training, and many things in between. All participants and their accompanying children can make use of Survivor Services and all our services are free and confidential.

For the referral, please contact the RIFS hotline: 503-445-1446
