Meet IRCO Asian Family Center's New Manager!

IRCO is pleased to announce that Sophorn Cheang has been selected as the Asian Family Center (AFC) Manager. For over 10 years, Ms.Cheang has worked closely with many community leaders from various ethnic backgrounds, Asian Pacific Islander communities in particular, to fulfill her passion of positively impacting communities. She has a proven track record of promoting the visibility of immigrant and refugee communities and advocating to address social injustices that impact our multicultural communities.

In her prior roles with IRCO as Interim AFC Manager and Community Development Department Manager, Ms. Cheang successfully managed
multiple culturally specific programs, strengthened relationships with funders, local government agencies and ethnic community based organizations, and mobilized community leaders to advocate for their respective community needs. Before her work at IRCO, Ms. Cheang served on AFC’s advisory board as both a member and the chair. She was also deeply involved in the Golden Leaf Education Foundation, FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association Oregon Chapter, Cambodian-American Community of Oregon, Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce, Colored Pencils Art and Culture, and the United States Census Bureau. She is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration from Willamette University.
